Second City’s Finest: An Evening with Lewis Goodall
A new series of events launched by the team at Digbeth Dining Club, “Second City’s Finest”, will celebrate some of the biggest names to come out of the city, names who have helped put Birmingham on the map.
Styled as “An Evening With…”, the events will be set in the casual and fun environment of Hockley Social Club.
The inaugural event will feature one of Britain’s top journalists, Lewis Goodall, who with Emily Maitlis and Jon Sopel hosts and presents the leading daily news podcast, The News Agents as well as his own show on LBC.
Born and bred in Northfield, Lewis studied at Oxford University before embarking on a career that has seen him work at Sky and the BBC before he joined Global on whose platforms he presents The News Agents’ award-winning podcast and a weekly show Leading Britain’s Conversation. He is also the author of ‘Left For Dead? The Strange Death and Rebirth of the Labour Party’.
Lewis will be joined in conversation with fellow journalist and author and host for the evening Brian Doogan.
The event will take place at the award-winning street food venue, Hockley Social Club, where food and drinks will be available on the evening.
The night will conclude with a Q&A thrown open to the audience and there will also be a raffle in which all proceeds raised will go to charity.
In order to keep these events accessible to anyone and everyone, tickets will cost just £10, with under 18’s allowed in for free when accompanied by an adult ticket-holder.
The show will start at 8pm and wrap up by 10pm. Doors will open at 6pm for anyone looking to enjoy the food and drink prior to the main event. The night will be informal with no dress code or table bookings required.
An Evening With Lewis Goodall will be co-hosted by the Birmingham Press Club.
