POWER FOLK COMES TO HOCKLEY SOCIAL CLUB 🤩

Get ready for a one-day festival of energetic and soulful folk music on Sunday 8th June. Founded in 2013 by Joe Broughton’s renowned 75-piece Conservatoire Folk Ensemble, POWER FOLK champions the best in forward-thinking folk and roots music, showcasing both established and up-and-coming artists. 🎶

Taking place for the first-time ever at Hockley Social Club, the festival’s 12th edition promises to be bigger and better than ever – with its new venue bringing more space, improved lighting and sound, and an elevated food and drink offering.

The incredible lineup features:

Suntou Susso Band – The renowned Kora player, bringing his powerful afro-beat funk to the stage.
Joe Broughton’s Conservatoire Folk Ensemble – A spectacular 75-piece ensemble, blending folk traditions with every genre imaginable (this is definitely POWER folk!)
Punch The Sky – A high-energy and highly original party band that you can’t stand still to.
Keith Donnelly – The hilarious and unpredictable genius of folk AND comedy circuits.
Dan Walsh – An award-winning banjo virtuoso who will blow your mind.
University of Birmingham Folk Band – Directed by the amazing Galician fiddle player Paloma Trigás

Tickets are on sale now – with Early Bird tickets priced at £17 (with £10 concessions) available until 1st April.

Digbeth Dining Club’s city centre home, Hockley Social Club is one of the most vibrant and busiest bars in the city. Open every Thursday to Sunday all year round: think a rotating offering of the UK’s best in street food that changes every week, live music every Friday and Saturday night, monthly comedy nights, after parties at their in-house record store, a huge outdoor terrace that flourishes in the Summer, plus Sunday morning markets, art exhibitions, spoken word nights and a whole programme of events 5 days a week.

We have three great bars across Hockley Social Club, including: The Warehouse bar, Cafe Artum & our cocktail bar Tax Reasons.
All of our bars will be serving beers, cocktails, two great wine lists and amazing coffees from Cafe Artum!
