Second City’s Finest: An Evening with Johnny Giles
A new series of events launched by the team at Digbeth Dining Club, “Second Cities Finest”, will celebrate some of the biggest names to come out of the city, names who have helped put Birmingham on the map.
Styled as “An Evening With…”, the events will be set in the casual and fun environment of Hockley Social Club.
The fourth instalment of this series will feature adopted Brummy, Leeds legend, former Ireland manager: Johnny Giles.
One of the Republic of Ireland’s finest players, Johnny Giles began his career as a winger with Manchester United before being converted into a midfield player at Leeds United where he played a pivotal role in the club’s greatest era. Becoming player-manager of the Irish national team while still a star player at Leeds, he later combined that job with managerial duties in both England and Ireland before developing a successful media career.
The event will take place at the award-winning street food venue, Hockley Social Club, where food and drinks will be available on the evening.
In order to keep these events accessible to anyone and everyone, tickets will cost just £10, with under 18’s allowed in for free when accompanied by an adult ticket-holder.
The show will start at 8pm and wrap up by 10pm. Doors will open at 6pm for anyone looking to enjoy the food and drink prior to the main event. The night will be informal with no dress code or table bookings required.
