Vibes & Stew is a dynamic Afrobeat band based in Birmingham, blending traditional and contemporary Afrobeat with Highlife, Amapiano, and other African genres. Formed by Kobla in 2024, they have already made their mark on the local music scene with regular performances that bring infectious energy and vibrant sounds to every stage. Their music draws inspiration from the rich heritage of African beats, while infusing modern influences to create unique medleys that gets people moving. Whether it’s an intimate setting or a lively crowd, Vibes & Stew delivers a rhythmic experience that connects and brings communities together.

Event Details

Raised in a Christian household to Ghanaian parents, Kobla (a name given to Tuesday-borns in his native tounge, Ewe), cites Gospel, Afrobeat and Jazz as fundamental influences to his style.

Since graduating from university in 2016, Kobla’s pursuits in both engineering and music have taken him across the UK; meeting and connecting with musicians and artists from various backgrounds and influences.

The global Covid-19 pandemic presented numerous challenges but also unique opportunities. With live shows coming to a halt, Kobla spent much more of his free time practicing and developing new skills – one of them being music production. ‘Launch’ (released 31st July 2020), the debut single from Kobla the Expression, is the embodiment of this time period.

All this will go alongside our offering of award-winning street food, DJ’s playing all day and night and 3 bars, including a dedicated cocktail bar and a newly kitted-out Artum bar.
