Second City’s Finest: An Evening with Carl Chinn
In our next instalment of ‘Second City’s Finest’, Birmingham legend Carl Chinn will return to Hockley Social Club this May with an illustrated talk on the REAL Peaky Blinders.
Professor Carl Chinn MBE is a social historian, author, TV presenter and public speaker whose working life has been dedicated to unlocking Birmingham’s past. His studies span studies of working-class housing, urban working-class life, manufacturing, illegal bookmaking and ethnic minorities.
The author of the Sunday Times bestseller, ‘Peaky Blinders: The Real Story (2019)’, Carl has been researching Birmingham gangsters for more than 40 years, uncovering the true stories of the individuals that inspired the BBC hit show, ‘Peaky Blinders’.
Carl will be bringing this history to life on Thursday 15th May at 7.30pm, with the tell-all hosted by journalist Llewela Bailey.
Doors will open at 5.30pm with street food and drinks available. Tickets cost £10 (18+ only).
