The next instalment of Second City’s Finest welcomes one of Birmingham’s most celebrated sporting heroes — England and Warwickshire cricketer, Chris Woakes.

From the backstreets of Birmingham to lifting the 2023 Ashes and T20 World Cup, Chris’s journey is one of talent, graft and pure dedication to the game. Known for his consistency, calm temperament and match-winning performances on the world stage, he’s become one of English cricket’s most respected figures.

Across an evening of stories, insight and laughter, Chris will reflect on a career that’s seen him represent England over 200 times, win multiple ICC titles, and play a defining role in some of the most dramatic Test matches in recent memory.

Hosted by Max Whittle, the evening will explore the highs and lows of professional sport — from debut nerves and dressing-room dynamics to the pressures of performing for club and country. The night will conclude with a live audience Q&A, giving fans the chance to put their own questions to the man himself.

Set within the award-winning street food venue Herbert’s Yard, guests can enjoy food and drink from Birmingham’s best independent traders throughout the evening.
